A Family Wine Venture

WOVEN Winery, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, started with the vision of our cousin Gerry Prager, who brought American Heritage grapes (hybrids with both vinifera and North American origins) from Texas to Cincinnati in the 2000s, with a dream of making great wine locally.

The vision became a reality when the Schroeder and Weiskittel families purchased a six-acre property in Colerain Township in 2013. Since then, the family has cultivated most of its own grape vines year after year from the test site on Dave and Sandy Weiskittel’s property.

As grape growers and winemakers, we have a deep respect for the land and a commitment to making memorable and innovative wines. We hope you’ll enjoy our wines as much as we do. Cheers!

About the Owners

Sandy and Ron are siblings who grew up on the northwest side of Cincinnati. Robin is also from Cincinnati and met Ron during their college years. Dave, a Cleveland native, met Sandy at Xavier University. Dave’s lifelong interest in farming and experimentation with grape varietals on his back property in Colerain Township for several years caught Ron’s attention. The two couples decided to launch a wine business. Dave still maintains a career as a family practice physician and Ron as a home construction executive. Sandy and Robin contribute to the venture with business and marketing support.

Other contributors to our wine venture include Randy and Trish (Schroeder) Johnson, who live on the vineyard property and help care for it, and Ron Schroeder Sr., the family patriarch. We’re also grateful to family members and friends who have generously volunteered their time during community harvests and bottling sessions.
